The most unnecessary purchases as of late.

Basically long story short, I forgot to do my washing on Saturday which left with no clean undies for Monday so I had to wear my bikini bottoms on Monday then damp undies on Tuesday!

So after leaving work early (missing out on the meeting cos I've been ill!) I stopped off at Primark to buy some emergency ones for times like this - because it WILL happen again!

I walked straight past all the clothes (nice effort Nikki!) then went to the under wear section. I picked up two packs of 4 undies, then turned to see all the stockings. I had also accidentally bought brown coloured ones instead of black. So I bought a 3 pack of BLACK stockings, some woollen ones, then a 3 pack of socks because I only have about 4 pairs! Then I happened to walk past the slipper isle and ended up buying three pairs of these super choice rabbit slippers for me and two of my flatmates, and some other slippers for me. All for the cheap price of £23.

Because I hadn't eaten for two days due to feeling so nauseas I thought I was going to throw up every 2 seconds, I thought I had better TRY and eat something. What better thing to try than soup? One would think so.

I walked into Lidl (a nice cheap supermarket, Kinda like Pak N Save, but no where near as big!) and set off for the soup.

I ended up leaving the shop with 2 tins of vegetable soup, a packet of 2 garlic and coriander naan breads, a packet of prawn crackers, a big bag of spinach, a box of grapes, a massive salami and some tortellini all for £7.

This is a prime example of impulse buying. Yes I did need all of those things to some degree. but I also only needed soup and undies.

Living out of a suitcase for basically 4 months has put into perspective what necessities are actually necessary. That and having no money.

But after my first 'proper' pay, I go and splash out on hosiery from Primark and food I can't stomach?

Good one Nikki!

Things I'm Loving!

This week I'm loving...

This song

This sky

These crocheted coasters for my great aunt in Devon

Having a crap day at work so you and your flatmate make popcorn and tea and turn the lights off and chat by candle light

The option on the menu (we didn't order any!)

Instead I got this

The London Overground

This is what happens when you twist a rubix cube the wrong way..

and finally, I'm loving these chips. And no matter how long I live in London, I will always call them chips, AND NOT CRISPS!

Star light, star bright

The first star I see tonight

I wish I may, I wish I might

Have the wish I wish tonight

Ironic how there were no stars in the sky that night?

I'm not sure what to call this post or what to write in it.

Just think - green, red, blue, tunnels, orchestra and belly dancing

I'll let the photos tell the story.

Things I'm Loving!

This week I'm loving...

Raspberry Beer - sooooooo good!

Having dinner and drinks with Jess and Trev - old flatties from NZ

First ever FRESH fig!

Meringue pie - epic fail on the cutting front!

Garlic and coriander naan with hummus, falafel, spinach, cucumber, red pepper and gherkins! Delish!

My class room!

I'm loving that I have a FULL bottle of wine in my room, a FULL bottle of wine in the fridge and another HALF bottle of wine in the fridge too. Normally I'd be tempted to drink them all on 3 different nights, but they're been there ALL week! What's happening to me??

I'm also loving wasabi peas and my newest crochet project!

Things I'm Loving!

I'm back in business baby!

It has been the busiest week EVER! Working 9-10 hours a day is definitely not my forte! The work load is never ending! And it's only going to get WORSE!

But never fear, here are my lovings this week!

I don't know why I'm going to love all this cutting out, but I think the down-time time in front of the t.v or catching up on Home and Away on youtube is really what I'm looking forward to!
(I got these off an awesome website called Mrs Pancake, loads of free learning and teaching resources on there for anyone!)

I actually cracked up laughing when I read this on the train to work on Thursday! Basically an elk got drunk off the fermenting apples and tried to climb the tree, got stuck, then when freed, comered out on the ground!

This is really sneaky, and I wouldn't like someone to take a photo of me when I was asleep, but it was sooo sweet! A mum and 2 sons sleeping on the tube! (the quality is bad, so does that make up for it?)

I'm also loving my Skype date with Meg tomorrow morning! Miss chatting to ya love!x

Things I'm Loving

It has really been a terrible week, wishing I was back in NZ to support friends through their tough times. Numerous things have happened but next week is a brighter week, and I'll have the internet (hopefully) so it'll be a better post. But I can't not blog for things I'm loving so here's a quick one!

This post is dedicated to my friend from school Shyam who very sadly took his life yesterday. He was such a well liked guy at school and will be very sadly missed. I cannot imagine what his family and all his friends are going through. I wish I was back home to help support everyone.

But on a lighter note, here are two things I'm loving...
